Enrique Savas Garza, 44, of Lubbock and loving husband of Mayra Garza was lifted into heaven to meet his Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, August 1st, 2024. He was born on June 13th, 1980, in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.
He was raised in Brownfield, Texas, and attended the Brownfield School District. He met Mayra Hernandez, the love of his life, and they were united in marriage on August 1st, 2009, in Lubbock, Texas.
Savas was the rock of his family and was a deeply devoted family man who was cherished by everyone around him. He held his family in the highest regard and never hesitated to go above and beyond for them as well as anyone else in need. An artist at heart, he poured his passion into his work as a tattoo artist and found joy in creating beautiful art. Despite his busy schedule, he always made time to bond with his family, whether it was playing football with the kids, watching boxing matches with his friends and family, attending family celebrations, or cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys football team. He loved all animals, and they held a special place in his heart. His playful sense of humor and genuine kindness drew people to him, and his unwavering courage and faith inspired those around him. His family describes him as funny, social, loveable, generous, kind, courageous, and mostly, God-fearing. In 2011, he was baptized by his father-in-law, Rev. Mario Hernandez, a significant moment in his journey as a man of deep conviction and unwavering faith. His spirituality was a central part of his life.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his loving wife Mayra Garza; four sons Nathaniel Bean, Mathew Bean, Andrew Perez, and Noah Garza, all of Lubbock, four daughters Desiray Serrato and husband Ramiro Serrato JR of Levelland, Sadie Perez, Jazleen Garza, and Kaylee Pina all of Lubbock; three brothers; Joseph Anthony Garza, of Lubbock, Daniel Santana Garza of New Mexico, and Jonathan “JP” Romero of Brownfield; two sisters Monica Garza Garza of Levelland and Crystal Garza of Brownfield; his father and mother-in-law Mario and Rosa Hernandez of Whiteface; mother-in-law Paula Franco of Levelland; three brother-in-laws; Joel Martinez, of Houston, Leroy Hernandez and wife Kendelyn Hernandez of Tucson, Arizona, and J.R Hernandez and wife Baylei Hernandez of Lubbock, his Goddaughter, Mya Romero; and a host of his nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
