Erminia “Minnie” DeLeon, also known as Grandma De Ranch, 92, of Lubbock, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 31, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 7, 1931, in Yancey, Medina County, Texas, to the late Isaac Robles and Angelita Robles.
Erminia met Trinidad DeLeon, the love of her life, and they were married in 1954, in Yancey, Texas. Out of this blessed union were born five wonderful children. Mr. DeLeon preceded her in death on October 9, 1987.
Erminia was a hard worker all her life, and she instilled that into her children at a young age. She never feared hard work, as she was a dedicated homemaker, mother and grandmother. She loved to color, especially with markers. She also loved to crochet, play bingo, dominos and was an avid collector of many things. Her family related that she loved to cook and was well known for her chicken and zucchini dish, as well as her tortillas and tamales. She loved to garden and had a green thumb, of which she could bring wilting and dead flowers back to life. Erminia loved to go out and eat and her favorite restaurant was Bryan’s Steakhouse in Lubbock. She was reared in the Catholic faith by her family.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her children: Yolanda Lott and husband James of Lubbock, Lydia Kimberlin and husband Coby of San Angelo, Robert DeLeon and wife Angie of Crane, and Ruben DeLeon of Lubbock, eighteen grandchildren, forty two great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; as well as countless brothers, sisters, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Miguel DeLeon, and a granddaughter, Latisha Trevino.
There will be a time of reflection and visitation from 2 PM to 7 PM, with family receiving friends from 5 PM to 7 PM, on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Combest Family Funeral Homes Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway in Lubbock, and from 12 PM to 2 PM on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in the same location. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, with Mike Kelly of Legacy of Love Hospice officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
