Ernesto Garcia, Sr.

July 21, 1936 — August 26, 2022

Lubbock

Ernesto Garcia Sr., 86 went to his Lord and Savior on Friday August 26, 2022. Ernesto was born on July 21,1936 to the late Miguel Garcia and Juana Medina, in Brownsville, Texas. Ernesto married Maria de Jesus on August 15, 1956, in Brownsville Texas. Their Union was blessed with eight children: five daughters and three sons. They graciously adopted six grandchildren to raise as their own. Ernesto, Sr. was known for his great talks of his “growing up years.” He enjoyed watching Little House on the Prairie, Western movies, and he was a Dallas Cowboys football fan!

Before his children were grown Ernesto took the family on vacation trips to White River for camping and fishing. He was employed by Lee Lewis Construction Company for over 25 years before retirement in 2006. Ernesto devoted his life to being a great caring and loving husband, a terrific and amazing father to his children, and a wonderful grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather; "our superman."

Ernesto was met in heaven by his parents Miguel and Juana, his soulmate of 56 years Maria de Jesus (who passed away July 26, 2013), two daughters Guadalupe Rodriguez, Janie Roye, and a son Guillermo Rodriguez. Those left to love and cherish his many memories are 11 children, over 50 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, a few great greatgrandchildren, and many more relatives and family.

Ernesto's family will have a memorial gathering Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Combest Memorial Chapel 2210 Broadway. Ernesto Garcia Jr., will officiate the service.

Arrangements were entrusted to Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
