Eugene Brant Williams passed away January 16, 2024, in Big Spring, Texas surrounded by family and friends. He was born on September 4, 1948, to Eugene Charles (Pete) Payne and Georgia Lenora Reed-Williams in San Marcos, Texas. Brant graduated from Borden County High School in 1967. He farmed for the family for a few years, then went on to serve his country. Brant was in the Army Airborne Rangers, serving in the Vietnam war, as a Green Beret in the Special Forces Operations from 1969-1971.
Upon his honorable discharge from the United States Military, he returned to West Texas and returned to farming. Brant then moved to Lubbock and started in the cotton trading industry. After some years in the trading industry, Brant got into the home remodeling and repair business. After 30 years of remodeling homes, he and his wife, Teresa retired to Gail, Texas. Brant enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles, but most of all, he enjoyed being with his family and his grandbabies.
Brant was preceded in death by his father, Pete Payne, his stepdad, Billy Leon Williams, his mother, Georgia Lenora Reed, and a brother James Garland Williams. Those remaining to cherish his memories are his wife Teresa Combs of Gail, Texas, his children, Scotty Isbell of Tahoka, Brock and wife Jacqua Cartwright of Canyon, Texas, Brody and wife Kelley Cartwright of Ft. Worth, Texas, Tiffany and husband Scott Runge of Lamesa, Texas, Jason and wife Juleah Williams of Round Rock, Texas, Ty Williams of Shallowater, step-children, Kayla and husband Kyle Nichols of Big Spring, Texas, Kara and husband Pat Robinson of Lubbock, Texas and David Childers of Lubbock, Texas. Grandchildren, Micha, Kaytlin, Mackenzi, Carli, Cason, Reagan, Avery, Jaden, Hunter, Tatum, Maddie, Amy, Tynzley, Tallyn, Jack, Jules, Abbie, Dawson, Rhili and Averi. Great Grandchildren, Logan, Jeep, and Jaclyn. Siblings include Tena and husband Billy Adkins of Temple, Texas, Eugenia Scott of Grape Creek,Texas and Sam and wife Michelle Williams of Tahoka.
The family of Eugene Brant Williams will honor and celebrate his life with a memorial service scheduled at 11:30 AM, Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Tahoka Trinity Church, 1925 Lockwood Street, Tahoka, Texas, with Pat Robinson officiating. There will be a meal immediately following the service. Arrangements were entrusted to Combest Family Funeral Home, Tahoka and Combest Family Crematory, Lubbock.
