Eunice Lucille Williams, of Lubbock, was 90 years old when she passed away Wednesday February 8, 2023. She was born on December 19, 1932, the daughter of Jesse Virgil and Zelma “Bill” Newton in Petersburg, Texas. She grew up in Petersburg and graduated from Petersburg High School in 1950. She married Artie D. Williams, Jr. on January 1, 1951. They moved to Lubbock in 1960 where she was a devoted mother and homemaker. She began working outside the home in 1967 for the Lubbock Bus Station and later for Caterpillar manufacturer Eagle Picher until she retired in 1988. Her retirement was spent making memories with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and traveling with Artie. She was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ and South Plains Drifters and Rearview Mirrors RV Clubs.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Gary Williams and wife Lea of Shreveport, LA, Randy Williams and wife Christine of Lubbock, daughter Carma McKenzie and husband Tim of Shallowater, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Artie, her parents, and a grandson, Alex Kyle Williams.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Sunset Church of Christ in Lubbock.
