Eva Smith

Eva Nell Smith of Lubbock passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the age of 90. She was born August 12, 1934, in Dalton, Georgia to the late Walter and Eva Brock. Eva worked as a registered nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital Mental Health Wing for many years, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed bowling and golfing. Eva will be best remembered as a people person that never met a stranger, but most importantly you could always depend on her to be there for her kids. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Sharon Neeley and husband Tom of Alabama and Randy Croy of Texas; grandchildren, Brandy Plunkett and husband John and Ashley Murillo and husband Juan; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-granddaughters. 

Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Dee Smith in 2017 and one granddaughter, Sabrina Daily in 2020. 

Visitation will begin at 9:00 am Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Combest Family Funeral Homes with the family receiving friends from 12:00-1:00 pm. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 pm at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
