Floyd Salinas

Floyd Salinas of Lubbock passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the age of 57.  He was born February 16, 1956 in Weslaco, Texas to Benito and Eulalia Salinas.   Floyd graduated from Lubbock High School and went on to join the U.S. Marine Corp.  Upon honorable discharge, he attended Texas Tech University.  He married Josie Andrade on October 6, 1978 in Lubbock.   He was a member of Emmanuel Community Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Josie; two sons, J. R. Salinas and partner Chuck Bischoff and Nicholas Salinas, all of Lubbock; five sisters, Janie (Juan) Benavidez, Diane Kimbrell, Nancy (Jimmy) Gomez, Irene (Zeke) Reyna, and Sylvia Rodriguez; four grandchildren, Sierra Ruiz, Sydney Salinas, Saegean Salinas, and Brandon Massie.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Eric on September 8, 2013; and one brother, Ben Salinas on November 29, 2013.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Highland Baptist Church, 4316 34^th Street.
