Frances Burton of Ransom Canyon passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the age of 84.  She was born June 10, 1930 in Havana, Florida to John Wesley and Daisy (Lashley) Faircloth. She was a veteran, served in the Korean War as an ensign nurse in the U.S. Navy. On March 2, 1954 Frances married Willie Frank Burton; they were married until his death. She was a member at Shadow Hills Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Linda Williams (Billy) of Ransom Canyon, and Debra Burton of Moody; son, David Burton of Houston; brother, Emmitt Faircloth (Faye) of Arcadia, Florida; sister, Patricia Stanford (Ray) of Ft. Worth; five grandchildren, Kristen Harper (Brian), Adam Meekins (Amanda), Cynthia Gump (Travis), Gary Burton and Lauren Martin (Travis); and four great-grandchildren.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a grandson, John David Burton.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2014 at Combest Family Funeral Home. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Encounter at Shadow Hills with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.

The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Lubbock, 3702 21st Street, Lubbock, Texas 79410.
