Frank Q. Haines, Jr.

Frank Haines, Jr. entered this life on February 1, 1956, and passed away July 27, 2024. He was born in Ballinger, Texas to Frank Haines, Sr. and Naomi Ann Haines.

Frank served in the United States Navy from 1977 to 1981. While enlisted, he was stationed on the USS Forrestal as an Aviation Structural Mechanic until separating from the Navy.

In 1984, Frank welcomed his first child, son Frank Q. Haines, III (Trey), and in 1986 he welcomed his second son Lee M. Haines.

Frank married the love of his life, Brenda Isreal, August 7, 2009. When the two became husband and wife, he gained two daughters, Hollie Isreal and Jessica Miranda, a granddaughter and a grandson.

Frank loved watching his Dallas Cowboys play and forever held out hope they would return to the Super Bowl, only to end each season with, “Maybe next year.” He was an avid golfer who took to the green every chance he could. Gardening at home and the local community garden became hobbies in recent years as had become a Master Gardener. He also enjoyed volunteering at Isaiah’s Soup Kitchen. When he had the time, he hit the road to spend time at the family property in Pandale, TX. He loved getting on the river to fish and always made sure deer blinds were ready for hunting season.

Above everything, he was obsessed with being the best Pops possible to his 6 grandkids. He spent time teaching them anything and everything he could, from driving golf carts to working on a fort and building anything their imaginations could come up with to teaching them to swim. Most outings would end in a buffet at Pizza Inn. He did everything he could to spend every second possible with them – birthday parties to baptisms, school programs and graduations, periodic drop-ins just to say hello and dropping off random goodies.

Frank is survived by his wife Brenda Isreal of Hobbs, NM, brother Ronnie Haines of Cristoval, TX, son Trey and wife Emily Haines of Hobbs, NM, daughter Jessica and husband David Miranda of Hobbs, NM, daughter Hollie Isreal of San Angelo, grandchildren Hailey, Demetry and wife Delilah, Kenley, Mason, Macie, Kennedy, a great-granddaughter on the way, nephew Jeffrey and wife Shelbi Haines of San Angelo, TX, and great nieces Eden and Evie.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Sr. and Naomi Ann Haines.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Frank and Brenda’s home, 1004 East Green Acres in Hobbs on Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 6-8 PM. Various foods will be available. If planning on visiting for a while, please bring a lawn chair. A Naval Military Honors group will be in attendance and presenting a flag to the family at 6 PM.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Isiah’s Soup Kitchen in Frank’s name. Donations can be made through their Facebook page, dropped off or mailed to 304 West Harden, Hobbs, NM 88240. Canned goods can also be brought to the service, and the family will take care of delivery.

The family is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers.
