It is with great sadness that the family of Frank Leroy Richard announces his passing at age 70 on August 17, 2023. Frank was born in Texarkana, TX to Dave Hall and Claudine Richard on May 4, 1953.

 

He lived there until he was a Sophomore in high school, then move to Amarillo, TX, where he graduated from Tascosa High School in 1972. He then moved to Shallowater, TX with his uncle Odell for work. Frank met his future wife, Annette Spence of Paducah, TX in 1974 on a blind date, and after dating awhile, Frank moved to Lubbock, TX to live with Annette. They married on January 3, 1978, in Abernathy, TX. Frank found a job with Bush Hog were he trained to become a module builder service technician, and after working for Bush Hog for a time, Frank set off to start his own farm equipment repair service. The couple had their son, Frank J Richard, in 1999 and in 2001, he purchased land, built a shop and home, and moved to the outskirts of Lubbock where he continued to run Frank Richard Module Service successfully for combined 35+ years traveling throughout the south for work.

 

Frank adored food, family, all things western, and helping others. He loved to eat and to make sure others were fed. It was one of his main ways of showing his love for others. Frank loved his entire family, including many close friends he considered family, and did whatever he could to support and nurture them. He loved caring for children and was affectionately known as “Uncle Leroy” or “Uncle Frank” by many who spent time in his home. He was known as a father figure well before he welcomed his own son into the world. He had a passion for the western style and media was well known, and he could be found most day wearing in his favorite boots, belt, and cowboy hat. He loved horses. He kept and rode many throughout his life. Frank was also known for his generosity and honesty. Anything anyone needed, if he could give it to them, he did so without hesitation. Many of his customers and business partners throughout the years spoke highly of him as a person who was fair, honest, and genuine in his business practices and as a person. He was never shy about meeting people and enriched the lives of many people through his business and personality. Frank was a beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend who lived a life of giving and caring for others. He will be dearly missed by many.

 

Frank is survived by his wife, Annette Richard of Lubbock, TX; one son, Frank James Richard of Lubbock, TX; four brothers, Charles Richard of Amarillo, TX, Jerry Richard of Amarillo, TX, Freddie Crawford of Lyden, WA, and Eddie Richard of Lubbock, TX; one sister, Shirley (Carl) Ashley; one aunt, Ozzie Carson of Texarkana, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, and god-children.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Dave Hall; his mother, Claudine Richard; his brother, Mitchell Warren; three uncles, Odell Richard, Calvin M Richard, and JC Tucker; three aunts, Jessie M Thompson, Arlene Birl, and Lurene Boxley.

 

 A time of visitation will be held on Friday, August 25th, 2023, from 2:00PM to 8:00pm at The Venue on Broadway. 

Services for Frank Richard will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Venue on Broadway with Comas Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Lubbock, Texas.
