Frank Perez Villarreal

Frank Perez Villarreal, 86, of Lubbock, was lifted into heaven by his Lord and Savior on Saturday afternoon, August 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Villarreal was born on April 23, 1937, in Temple, Bell County, Texas, to the late Gonzalo Villarreal and Refugio (Flores) Villarreal.

Mr. Villarreal was a long-time resident of Lubbock, graduating from Lubbock High School in 1959.

He married Mary Gonzales on February 23, 1963, in Lubbock.  She preceded him in death on February 4, 1976.  He then married Victoria Argullin on September 22, 1979, in Lubbock.

Frank’s passion was gardening and making his lawn immaculate.  He loved to study army history and watch army movies.  He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army.  He worked as a draftsman for Lubbock Power and Light for 33 years, before retiring in 2001.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife, Victoria; two sons:  Orlando Villarreal and his wife Nora of Ft. Worth and Arturo Villarreal of Lubbock; one daughter, Sona Styles and her husband Adam of Newton Abbott, England; one step-son, Roy Alafa of Lubbock; two step-daughters, Linda Rogers and her husband Troy of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Cecilia Ray and her husband Mark of Tulsa, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; two sons, Hector Villarreal and John Alafa; three brothers:  Gonzalo Villarreal, Jr., Lupe Villarreal and Reynaldo Villarreal; three sisters:  Juanita Guerrero, Eurigueta Madrid and Olivia Chavez; one grandson, Courtney Sosa.

A time of reflection and visitation for Frank will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 4 PM to 7 PM, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6 PM that evening.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1120 52^nd Street in Lubbock.  Father Martin Pina will be the celebrant.  Final rites and interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Pallbearers will be Lacho Argullin, Herman Vindiola, Orlando Villarreal, Jr., Sebastian Campos, J. J. Argullin, Maria Villarreal, Chris Mungia, Marcos Ortiz, and Kenny Ray.
