Fred Cortez Martinez, Sr.

Fred C. Martinez, Sr., of Lubbock passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the age of 70.  He was born on February 15, 1944, to Luis and Felipa (Cortez) Martinez, in San Marcos, Texas.   He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Freddie Martinez, Jr. and his wife Sally of Slaton, one grandson Freddie Martinez, III, three brothers; Gilbert and his wife Connie, Jimmy and Manuel Martinez, three sisters; Eva Parras and her husband Richard, Ema Martinez and Lilly Zapata and numerous extended family members and friends.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Luis, Jr. and Jessie Martinez, and one sister; Enedina Pena.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014 at New Beginnings Church 2914 Baylor Street Lubbock, Texas 79423.
