Glenda “Sam” Elaine Pelham of Lubbock passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the age of 73. She was born January 27, 1941 in Tiago, Texas to John Thomas and Lillian Loraine (Hogan) Turner. Sam worked a number of years as a data clerk for Piggly Wiggly and Furr’s Supermarkets. She married Wayne Pelham on July 15, 1961 in Lubbock. For the last 29 years she has worked alongside her husband at Wayne’s Auto Service. Sam was a member of Joyful Noise Christian Fellowship.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wayne; one brother, Tom Turner; and two brothers-in-law, Walter Randolph and Derrell Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Nancy Randolph and Charlsie Jones.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014 with the family receiving friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private.
