Harold Norton Hawkins of Lubbock passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the age of 85. He was born July 29, 1927 in Bovina, Texas to Leroy and Zula (Norton) Hawkins. He married Betty Ann Holley. He served in the United States Navy as a corpsman during World War II. Harold loved the Lord and had a passion for singing. He loved horses, reading, and car racers and was an antique dealer. He was a member of Lions Club, VFW and Salvation Ministries Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Betty Holley Hawkins of Lubbock; daughters, Vickie Worley and Joseph of Kyle, TX and Deborah Elvers and Mark of Lubbock, TX; brothers, Pastor Gene Hawkins and Louise of Lubbock, TX and Erith Hawkins of Bovina, TX; sister, Roylene Keel and Herman of Amarillo, TX; six grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles Hawkins, and two grandsons Shane and Shannon Laye.
In lieu of flowers family suggest memorials be made to The Parkinson’s Disease Foundation 1359 Broadway Suite # 1509 New York, New York 10018 or Lubbock National Bank 4811 50th Street Lubbock Texas 79414.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 to 4:00 pm Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Kingdom Life Fellowship located at 5278 Marsha Sharp Freeway Lubbock Texas 79407.
