Henry Daniel Turner

Henry Daniel Turner, 93, of Tahoka, passed away on Wednesday morning, February 14, 2024.  He was born on March 30, 1930, in Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, to the late Jesse Marvin ‘Boots’ Turner and Mattie Virginia ‘Jackie’ (O’Connell) Turner.

He attended O’Donnell High School, graduating with the senior class of 1947.

He met Ouida Isaacs, the love of his life, and they were united in marriage on September 6, 1947, in Lubbock, Texas.   She preceded him in death on December 6, 2016.

He was a long-time farmer in Borden County for many years.  He enjoyed raising paint horses, donkeys, ostriches, and other exotic birds.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in O’Donnell.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his daughter, Danna Curry (Zane) of Tahoka; a daughter-in-law, Janette Turner of College Station; six grandchildren:  Bric Turner (Tanya), Kimberly Lightfoot (Steve), Rachel Vega (Adrian), Rebekah Filley (Reed), Ryan Curry (Erica) and Roxie Miller (Clay); 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one son, Blaine Turner.

Visitation for Dan will be from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Combest Family Funeral Home in Tahoka.   Graveside services will follow at 3 PM in the Gail Cemetery, in Gail, Texas.  Bric Turner, grandson, will be the officiant.  Diane Farmer will provide special music at the graveside.  Services are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Home of Tahoka.

Pallbearers will be his great-grandsons.
