Herman A. Carter, Jr. of Dickens, formerly of Lubbock, went to Heaven on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the age of 58. Herman, affectionately called “Bug” or “Bugie” was born April 25, 1954 as the eighth child to Herman and Julia (Pevey) Carter. He was baptized at a young age. Bug was known as a fun loving jokester, just like his Mama. He enjoyed life working as a roofer and cutting trees.
Those preceded in death and entered into eternal life are his namesake, Herman, Sr.; brothers, Eddie and Doug Carter; sister, Bonnie Scarbrough; and step-father, Pat Robinson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Julia Robinson of Jayton; brother, Telmadge Carter of Smithsville; five sisters, Ann White of Lubbock, Jeanie Little of Dickens, Mary Minor of Sherman, and Kathy Green and Velma Thomas, both of Spur; step-brother, Mike Robinson of Frisco; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013 at New Deal Community Center. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
