Herman Whittman "Whit" Herring

Herman Whittman “Whitt” Herring of Lubbock passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the age of 38.  He was born July 23, 1975 in Ft. Worth.  At a young age the family moved to Lubbock where Whitt graduated from Coronado High School.  He went on to attend college before working as a truck driver for Lisa Trucking based out of the metroplex.

Those left to cherish his memory are his grandmother, Betty Tate; brothers, Scott Self and wife Rebecca and Matt Self and wife Keli; aunts, Janie and Nelda Shephard Coon; nieces and nephews, Whitney Brackens and husband Marcus,

Breanna Coon, Renee Self, Allen Self, and Scarlett Self; and mother and step-father, Letha Hudspeth and N. Scott Self, Sr.

Whitt was preceded in death by two grandfathers, one grandmother, and one aunt, Ruthie Phillips.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Combest Family Funeral Homes with the family receiving friends 6:00-8:00 p.m.  Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Celebration Christian Center with interment to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
