Idalou Owens Fleming, 95, of Lubbock went to be with her Lord on Monday, March 18, 2024. Idalou was born November 13, 1928, in Fort Worth, TX to Samuel and Marguerite (Caster) Owens.
She graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1947. Idalou married William Robert Fleming on July 1, 1947. She worked as a school secretary and a homemaker for many years. Idalou was a member of United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Philanthropic Education Organization. She also loved singing, cooking, sewing, needlework, painting, and ceramics.
Idalou was a devoted pastor’s wife, mother, homemaker, and grandmother. She delighted in decorating the areas of her life. Idalou was creative, talented, and will be dearly missed.
Idalou is survived by her daughters, Linda and husband Barry Haenisch of Rochelle, TX; Debbie Wells of Carrollton, TX; Terri and husband Lance of Red River, NM; grandchildren, Kyle Haenisch (Kristen Pirwitz), Kayce (Curtis) Hale, Lacy (Justin) Conway, Jake Loudder, Katy (Jake) Laurent, Alex (Taylor) Wells; great grandchildren, Charlie, Carter, Piper, Nico, Ginger, Bobby, Chloe (Brandon), Caroline, Clara, Jacey, Ethan, Sammi, Logan; 2 ½ great grandchildren, Conway and soon to be brother Arlo and Easton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Maguerite Owens; brother, S.F Owens and her husband, Dr. William Robert Fleming.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Kyle Cemetery, in Kyle, TX.
The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the staff of the 3rd floor South at Carillon House for their constant tender attention and to the entire Carillon family.
