Iline Lula “LuLu” McMillan, a beloved daughter, sister and aunt, passed away April 15, 2024, at 97 in Lubbock, TX. Iline was born May 24, 1926, to Author and Callie McMillan in Lynn County, TX.
Iline spent her early years working on the family farm in Lynn County, TX. In the 60’s she served up a mean hamburger with a tasty pineapple milkshake at the Dairy Mart in O’Donnell. At Lott’s Pharmacy she sold protein powder to the Eagle football players. At Mansell’s grocery store she cooked up tasty fried chicken to sell in the meat market. Into her 80s, she worked in the school cafeteria in O’Donnell baking up her tasty yeast rolls.
Iline never married. Her nieces and nephews were her “kids” as were all the students who filed through the cafeteria line at the OISD. She had a knack for making every kid feel special. She was a caretaker, always the first one there to help those in need, never asking for anything in return.
Iline was preceded in death by her parents and her ten brothers and sisters- Perry Dalton, “PD”, Lillie Mae Todd, John Dee, Lola Pearl Webb, James Woodrow, Hattie Udean Evans, Ollie Lee Pendleton, twin sister Pauline Monia Renfro, Callie Fae Massey, Pollie Catherine Renfro and several nieces and nephews.
Left to honor her memory are her surviving nieces and nephews- May Ann Cowling, Marilyn Crane, Ava Webb, Cleta Hobson,
Kay Evans, Freddy Pendleton, Larry Renfro, Raymond Renfro, Bobby Renfro, and Ken McMillan
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the O’Donnell Volunteer Fire Department 615 8th St O’Donnell, TX 79351
