Irene Anaya Flores

Irene Anaya Flores, 89, passed away January 31, 2024, in Lubbock, TX. She was born August 10, 1934, to Eusebio and Agricola (Olivas) Anaya, in Presidio, TX. Irene married Silverio D. Flores, October 4, 1952, and to this union they had 3 daughters, Maria, Minerva, and Yolanda. She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, gardening, and listening to music. Irene was a Christian at heart and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lubbock.

Irene was preceded in death by husband, Silverio D. Flores, her parents, Eusebio and Agricola Anaya, and 5 brothers, Silverio “Toby” Anaya, Eusebio Anaya, Pedro Anaya, Reynaldo Anaya, and Hilario “Larry” Anaya, 3 sisters, Araseli Valencia, Petra Valencia, and Lupe Valencia.  Those remaining to cherish her memories are her daughters, Maria Marmolejo of Austin, Minerva (Pablo) Gaona of Lubbock, and Yolanda Hill of Lubbock; 4 brothers, Ramon (Carolina) Anaya, Eusebio Jr. (Becky) Anaya, Jesus (Julie) Anaya, David (Mary) Anaya, all of Lubbock; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

The family of Irene Anaya Flores will honor and celebrate her life with a visitation from 4:00PM-8:00PM Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Combest Family Chapel, 2210 Broadway, Lubbock. Rosary will be held from 6:00PM-7:00PM during the hours of visitation. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 102 N Avenue P Lubbock, with Rev. Raymundo Manriguez officiating. A burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
