Isabel “Chavela” Vargas, 84, of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. She was born February 10, 1930 in Kerens, Texas to the late Ramon and Ysidra Vasquez. She worked as a property manager assisting with housing programs along with T. J. and Mack Davis. Chavela was most known as a woman of faith who ministered the Word of God and was a faithful prayer warrior. She remained diligent in leading her family down the path of faith.

Sons, Daniel Vargas and wife Margaret and
Peter Vargas and wife Martha;
Daughters, Rosa Gonzales,
Olga Rodriquez and husband James and
Edna Rodriguez and husband John Paul;
Brother, Juan Vasquez;
17 grandchildren;
27 great-grandchildren; and
1 great-great-grandchild
Chavela was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel, and seven siblings.
