Jackie Marley

Jackie Marley, 73 of Lubbock, passed away on Tuesday morning, December 12, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on January 2, 1950, in England, to Neville Davidson and the late Betty (Royale) Davidson.

She attended Coronado High School, graduating with the senior class of 1968.  She then attended South Plains College studying education, and then attended Texas Tech University studying education.

She met Ken Marley, the love of her life, and they were married on August 30, 1973, in Lubbock.

Jackie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who adored her family immensely.  She loved to go camping, reading, spoil her granddaughters and play I-Pad games.  She was employed by Lubbock County as a Legal Secretary in the Lubbock County District Attorney’s Office for many years before retiring in 2017.  She was a member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her husband, Ken of Lubbock; one son, James Marley of Lubbock; one daughter, Karen Johnston and her husband Jay of Tahoka; her father, Neville Davidson; one brother, Peter Davidson and his wife Patsy of Kress; one sister, Lesley Weir and her husband Rusty of Lubbock; two grandchildren, Kenzie Johnston and Kelby Johnston.  Jackie was preceded in death by her mother; three sisters:  Susan Davidson, Vivian Davidson and Heather Davidson.

A visitation for Jackie will be held from 4 PM to 6 PM on Thursday, December 14, 2023, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, December 15, 2023, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel, with Mr. Dale Mannon of Green Lawn Church of Christ officiating.  The burial of the cremains will take place later.  Memorial services and cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Bridge Hospice or to Lubbock Meals on Wheels.
