Jackie Wayne Mull

Idalou

 

Jackie Wayne Mull, 75, a lifelong resident of Idalou went home to be with the Lord Sunday, December 8, 2013. He was born to C. C. and Autry Dee (Kent) Mull on April 29, 1938 in Lubbock County. He graduated from Idalou High School and began farming in 1955 with his father.  In 1957 Jackie received the F.F.A. American Farmer degree.  He served as a board member for several organizations which include the Idalou School Board, Cotton Incorporated, Idalou Co-op Gin, Texas Agriculture Cooperative Council, and 24 years on the Plains Cotton Cooperative Association where he served as chairman of the board for 18 years.  He also served as advisor to the Cotton Council.  Jackie married Gwendolyn Sue Grimes on June 1, 1956 in Lubbock County. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Idalou where he served as a deacon and was a choir member.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gwendolyn of Idalou; sons, Perry Mull and wife Judy, Kenneth Mull and wife Karla and  Jerry Mull, all of Lubbock; sisters, Billy Simpson of Idalou and Velton Castleberry of Lubbock; grandchildren, Cody Mull, Jami Mull Davis, Dale Mull, Jennifer Mull Ritchie and Nathan Mull; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry C. Mull.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2013 at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Idalou with the family receiving friends 5:30–7:30 p.m. Graveside services will be at held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Idalou Cemetery.  Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Idalou
