Jacob David Dorrity was born in Lubbock, Texas, on December 8, 1989, and entered into his Heavenly eternal life on December 22, 2024. He spent his childhood in Plainview playing and excelling in all sports and riding the go-cart around the farm. His usual attire was a Spiderman cape or Ninja Turtle pajamas. He also enjoyed endless hours perfecting his ninja kicks with Clayton on the trampoline, while being bossed around by Katy. Most recently, Jake worked in the plumbing and electrical industries, collecting all the tools he could. He had an enormous sense of pride in all projects he worked on and completed. He had an unmatched work ethic and an enthusiastic attitude towards life. With Jake, there was never a dull moment. His personality and humor will never be forgotten.
He met the love of his life, Mary, in December 2020, and immediately fell in love with her, her ability to cook, especially Peruvian food, and her love for Christ. They appreciated their time together while worshipping, singing, and discussing philosophies on life.
Jake enjoyed building things and creating projects in his backyard. When he was not working, many of his days were spent helping his family with demo projects, building fences and doing anything else to help them. His favorite times were spent in the pool with all kids, enjoying all kinds of food and playing with their rescue dog, Bailey. He could always be counted on to play outside, swim and play catch any time he was asked.
Jacob is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters Reagan and Kinley; mother, Kay Walters; father, Charles Dorrity; siblings, Katy (JR) Christy, Clayton (Kristin) Dorrity, Makayle Cline and stepsister Christine (Trevor) Nuckols; nieces, Camille, Julia and Samantha Christy and nephews, Colton Christy and Bear Dorrity. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Royce and Inez Hillman and Leonard and Martha Dorrity; his sister, Elizabeth Dorrity; and his stepfather, Joe Walters. There was a special place in his heart for their dog, Bailey.
