James Escamilla Cardona

James Cardona, 37, of Lubbock, passed away on Monday morning, July 10, 2023.  James was born to Gilbert G. Cardona, Jr. and Marta Diana (Escamilla) Wheeler.

James attended school in Lubbock.  He loved to fish, go out on the boat and enjoy the water.  His family related that he loved to BBQ anything that he could get his hands on and the food he cooked was delicious.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his parents, Gilbert G. Cardona, Jr., and Marta Wheeler of Lubbock; one daughter, Jade Rosalyn Cardona of Lubbock; one brother, Rocky Orlando Cardona of Lubbock; one sister, Cynthia Ortiz of San Antonio; maternal grandmother, Otila Cardona of Lubbock.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gilbert Cardona, Sr. and Rosemary Cardona; his maternal grandfather, Santiago Escamilla.

Visitation will be from 10 AM to 1 PM on Friday, July 21, 2023, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Graveside services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, July 21, 2023, in the Wolfforth Cemetery, in Wolfforth, Texas.  Services are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Elyas Cardona, Elijah Cardona, Ayden Garcia, Michael Garcia, Maddox Dugan and Nazaray Ramos.
