James Marion Hill

July 12, 1940 — November 25, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Marion Hill, a devoted husband, loving father, and esteemed educator. Born on July 12, 1940, in the small town of Coodys Bluff, Oklahoma, James dedicated his life to shaping young minds and fostering a love for learning.

With a master’s degree in education, James served as an elementary school principal for many years, leaving a lasting impact on countless students, teachers, and colleagues. His dedication to education was unwavering, and his passion for inspiring the next generation was evident in all that he did.

Outside of his professional life, James enjoyed woodworking, finding solace and joy in creating treasures for every member of the family. He was a proud alumnus of Texas Tech and Midwestern State University, where he honed his expertise in the field of education.

James was devoted husband of 63 years to his beloved wife Norma, who he had met at Live Oak Baptist Church in Jacksboro, TX in September of 1960. They share two children, Jim Hill and Karen Hill Harrison. James Hill's legacy of love, kindness, and knowledge will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

James was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Ellen Hill.

A family funeral service to honor James' life will be held later, as we gather to celebrate the remarkable impact he had on our lives.

In this time of grief, may we find solace in the memories we shared with James, and may God’s spirit guide us through the days ahead. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
