James Robert Petty, 71, of Lubbock passed away Friday, January 28, 2022. James was born in Amarillo, Texas on June 2, 1950 to James Leo and JoAnn (Irwin) Petty. James graduated from Amarillo High School and went on to become an insurance adjuster. In his free time, James loved playing games with his family, throwing darts, and watching movies. James also loved going to concerts.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Olivia Thomas, James M. Petty, Jason Petty, Stacy Thompson, Lee Thompson, and Doug Thompson; his sister, Barbara Kimberlin; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James and JoAnn Petty.
Services will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12th at Stake Center, 7014 Frankford Avenue Lubbock, Texas 79424.
