James H. Cartwright, Iii

James H. Cartwright, III, 91, of Lubbock, passed away on Friday afternoon, September 2, 2022.  James was born on October 22, 1930, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, to the late James Henry Cartwright and Margaret Bemberg.

He married Linda L. Scoville on October 22, 1987, in Scottsdale, Arizona.

James attended Coe College in Illinois and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree.  He worked as the national sales manager for Public Storage before retiring.  He loved to golf as his number one hobby and past time.  He also enjoyed playing tennis, scuba diving, and Jimmy Buffet music.  He once played drums in a jazz band in Chicago.  He was a member of St. Paul’s on the Plains Episcopal Church.

Those left to cherish and honor his memory include his wife, Linda; two sons, James H. Cartwright, IV and his wife Pat of Parker, Colorado and Charlie A. Cartwright and his wife Beth of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; one daughter, Claudia Fix of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Cartwright.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 2 PM on October 1, 2022, at St. Paul's on the Plains Episcopal Church, 1510 Avenue X, Lubbock, TX 79401.

The family requests no flowers be sent, but encourages memorial donations be made to St. Paul’s on the Plains Episcopal Church or Connect Church in Lubbock.
