Jan Springer Price

Jan Springer Price, 77, of Idalou, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 22, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  Jan was born on September 16, 1945, in Seattle, King County, Washington, to the late Alvin Springer and Rowena (Dupree) Springer.

She attended and graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock.  Later, she attended Texas Tech University where she obtained her Bachelors Degree in Education.  She taught at the Idalou Middle School for over 20 years, before retiring in 1998.

Jan met Larry Price, the love of her life, and they were married on August 18, 1967, in Lubbock.  Mr. Price preceded her in death on September 16, 2019.

Jan loved doing crafts, reading, and going hunting and fishing.

Those left to cherish and honor her memory include three daughters:  Heather Smith and her husband Dino of Wimberley, Ashley Walton of Amarillo and Paige Tucker and her husband Chuck of Canyon; fifteen grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Her family is hosting a come and go memorial visitation on Sunday, September 3, 2023, from 1 PM to 3 PM, at Jan’s residence, 10104 N. FM 1729, Idalou, TX 79329.

Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory of Lubbock.
