Janell Davis, 88, devoted and loving mother, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Janell was born on July 10, 1934, in Shamrock, Wheeler County, Texas, to the late Robert Ewing and Jonnie (West) Ewing.
Janell received her education in the Pampa schools, graduating from Pampa High School. She then attended Texas Women’s University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree.
She met the love of her life, Garland Davis, and they were united in marriage in June of 1957, in Odessa, Texas. They lived briefly in Sidney, Nebraska before moving to Pampa, and then to Lubbock where she lived the past 50+ years.
Janell worked for the Texas Welfare Division for 20 years, before retiring in 1976. She loved animals, especially cats. She loved to sew, square dance and was an avid watcher of Walker, Texas Ranger, and liked to talk long daily walks. She was brought up in the Methodist faith.
Those left to cherish and honor her memory include her children, Mike Davis of Anna, Texas, Janna Robinson of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Kristi Lynn Hulbert of San Diego, California; one brother, Rees Ewing of El Paso; three grandchildren, Katie, Chase, and Pierce. Janell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Garland on September 13, 2022, and one son, Glenn Arthur Davis in April 2017.
No services are planned at this time.
In honor of Janell, the family requests memorial donations in her memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601.
