Janet Renee Wilson

Janet Renee Wilson, 60, of Melrose, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday evening, January 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  Janet was born on December 13, 1963, at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California to her parents, Randolph Weather Woolard and Darlene Donna (Anderson) Woolard.   Her father preceded her in death.

Janet graduated from Melrose High School in 1982.   She later attended Eastern New Mexico University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She taught 2^nd grade in Floyd, New Mexico and then taught at Melrose Elementary, before retiring in 2009 due to health issues.

She met Corbit Wilson, the love of her life, and they were married on September 11, 1982, in Melrose, New Mexico.  Out of this union, they were blessed with a wonderful son and daughter.  Mr. Wilson preceded her in death on August 9, 2017.

Janet loved to decorate for Christmas, read and watch movies.  She grew up in the Methodist faith.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her daughter, Christy Beevers and husband Josh of Lubbock; son, Cory Wilson of Wolfforth; her mother, Darlene Woolard of Melrose, New Mexico; one brother, James Woolard of Corpus Christi; two brothers-in-law:  Wayne Wilson of Melrose, New Mexico and Richey Wilson and wife Rosan of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Kayden Beevers and Kelcie Beevers, and a host of extended family members.  Janet was preceded in death by her father and husband.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date and her obituary will be updated when finalized.
