Janie Ibarra

Janie DeLaRosa Ibarra, 57, of Lubbock, passed away from her earthly home on Sunday, December 11, 2022. She was born on February 6, 1965 to Lorenzo DeLaRosa and Zaida Iris Ramirez. Janie grew up in Lubbock, Texas where she attended Lubbock High School. She worked at Savers for 15 years and Wal-Mart near the end of her life.

She will best be remembered for loving life and living it. She loved traveling to many places, including Disneyland and Las Vegas. Her wish was to see the ocean before she died and she didn't see it once but 3 times on her cruises. She was an amazing cook. Family fought over her potato salad, beans, and Menudo. Janie was a loving mother and friend. Her friends all said she was a joy to work with, hilarious and a firecracker.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Jacquelyn Ibarra (Sezar Trevino); sisters, Jacquelyn Grant (Lewis), Mary Stewart, Noemi Garcia, Dora May Champan; brothers Tony Garcia, Ricardo Garcia. She also had several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Lorenzo DeLaRosa; mother, Zaida Ramirez; and brothers, Johnny Rodriguez, Gary Edgardo and Raymond Garcia.
