On June 19, 2024, the world lost a truly remarkable soul with the passing of Jeannie Dell Deavours. Jeannie, a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse who served tirelessly for 35 years, touched the lives of countless individuals with her compassion and selflessness.
Born on July 15, 1947, Jeannie's journey was one marked by resilience and determination. Overcoming obstacles, she pursued her passion for nursing by obtaining her G.E.D. to fulfill her dream of attending nursing school. Her unwavering to care for others was evident in every life she touched throughout her career. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jeannie found solace and joy in various hobbies and interests. Whether she was delicately drawing and painting with watercolors, or reveling in the beauty of flowers, nature, and animals, her artistic spirit shone brightly through everything she did.
Jeannie will be deeply missed by her surviving family and friends, especially her beloved daughter, Gretchen Ann Griller. While we mourn the loss of Jeannie from this world, we take comfort in knowing that her legacy of kindness and empathy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Jeannie is now reunited with her father Delbert Lawrence, mother Norma Townsend, and great grandmother, Serveller Merrell, grandmother, Faye Robinson, uncles, Bobby Townsend, Freddy Townsend, Marion Townsend, and great uncle, Lowell Merrell. Their memories will continue to inspire all who were touched by Jeannie's love and care.
Jeannie Dell Deavours' light may have dimmed on earth, but it shines brightly among the stars as a guiding beacon of compassion and warmth. May she rest in peace knowing that her legacy will continue to bring comfort and healing to those she left behind.
