Jeremy Jermaine Johnson, 40, of Lubbock, transitioned on Monday morning, July 10, 2023. Jeremy was born on October 19, 1982, to Samuel Johnson, Jr. and Karon (Johnson) French.
Jeremy attended and graduated from McMichael High School in North Carolina. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Air Force. He has worked at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for the past 8 years. Jeremy loved sports, such as basketball, riding bikes and his memorable motorcycle affiliation with the Midessa Chapter of the Ruff Ryders. He was an avid football fan and loved the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers. Jeremy was very spirited; you knew when he entered a room, his smile was contagious. He loved people, enjoyed making them laugh and was exceedingly generous. He immensely loved food and was quite an “unique” cook. Jeremy’s faith was his foundation, he was zealous for truth and enjoyed being a member of the Mt. Moriah Church in Lubbock.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his parents, Karon French of Knightdale, North Carolina and Samuel (Lura) Johnson, Jr. of Madison, North Carolina; two daughters, Joy Jada-Ann Johnson of Lubbock and Jenesis Jream Johnson of Lubbock; his extended loves LaShaunda, Hayden, Rylan, Ky’Air and Janiya Stevenson of Lubbock; two brothers, Keon (Jennifer) Johnson of Silverton, Oregon, and Dariel Johnson of Madison, North Carolina. He also leaves incredible aunts and uncles and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as family friend, Rasteen Wilson, Sr.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and staff at UMC Neuro ICU.
Though our beloved is no longer here in body, but as an organ donor his heartbeat continues.
