Jerry Bob Burleson

Jerry Bob Burleson (69) passed away December 29, 2023, in Lubbock, TX. He was born April 10, 1954, to James Weldon and Geneva Irene (Henley) Burleson, in Lubbock, TX. Jerry graduated from Roosevelt ISD in 1972; He married Debra McMellan the same year. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy; where he learned the trade of welding; which is what he did throughout his life. Jerry enjoyed scuba diving, kayaking, and anything mechanical. He was a Christian at heart, was with the First Baptist Church, but most of all, he loved his family.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, James Weldon Burleson and his mother Geneva Henley Burleson. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Burleson, a daughter Michelle Burleson, 3 grandchildren, Makayla Williams, Dominick Williams, and Madison Williams; and James Burleson (brother), Kaye Pevehouse (sister-in-law), Toni McMillan (sister-in-law), John D. Burleson (brother), Alice Burleson and many nieces and nephews.  

The family of Jerry Burleson will honor and celebrate his life with a visitation from 4:00PM-7:00PM,  Thursday, January 4, 2024 at the Oak Crest Suite, Combest Funeral Home; there will be a funeral service at 2:00PM, Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Combest Family Chapel, 2210 Broadway Lubbock, TX 79401, with burial following, at City of Lubbock Cemetery.
