Jerry Wayne Jones

Jerry Wayne Jones, 73, of Idalou went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 7, 2014. He was born in Seymour, TX to Elmer L. and Lydia Beatrice (Stewart) Jones on March 9, 1941. He married Janice Solomon on August 24, 1963.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; three daughters, Cynthia Acuff, Rebecca Gilbert and husband Marty and Penny Mohling and husband Jimmy; one brother, Dean Jones and wife Linda; eight grandchildren, Amber Duggan, Eric Hart, Stephanie Gilbert, Bryson Gilbert, Andrew Aguilar, Caleb Aguilar, Noah Aguilar and Kaleb Mohling; four great-grandsons, Koby, Gannon, Alex and Leland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Billy Jones and sister-in-law, Betty Jones.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 with family receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Combest Family Funeral Homes in Idalou.  Celebration of Life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at First Assembly of God Church in Idalou with interment to follow at the Crosbyton Cemetery.
