Jerry C. Furnish

Jerry C. Furnish, 74, of Lorenzo, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday morning, February 20, 2023.  Jerry was born on June 5, 1948, in Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana, to the late Jerry Garrett Furnish and Idona A. (Thorneycroft) Furnish.

Jerry attended Southwestern High School in Hanover, Indiana, graduating in 1966.  He then entered the United States Navy, serving for nine and a half years, specializing as an electronics technician.  He served during the Vietnam War.

Jerry met the love of his life, Karin Trask, and they were united in marriage on August 28, 1971, in Uncasville, Connecticut.  They have made their home in Lubbock, Dallas and eventually in Lorenzo.

He worked for Texas Instruments for 30 years, retiring in 2010 as a Metrology Lead Foreman, overseeing computer chip manufacturing.  He loved to ride motorcycles and do woodworking.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife, Karin of Lorenzo; one daughter, Christina Lyn Furnish Edwards and her significant other, Danny Castleberry, of Lorenzo; one son, David Garrett Furnish (Tammie Jo) of Bonham; two brothers, Gary W. Furnish (Maureen) and Harold L. Furnish, both of Madison, Indiana; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members.  Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.

A time of reflection and visitation for Jerry will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM on Friday, March 3, 2023, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 4, 2023, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Mr. Keith Melcher will be the officiant.  Cremation will follow under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.

Pallbearers will be Austin Alexander, Dilyn Castle, Jayden Edwards and Cody Coleman.  Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Melcher and Danny Castleberry.
