With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jessie Nicole Wyatt-Mugica, age 34, of Big Spring, Texas. Jessie’s life was a testament to love, compassion, and selflessness, leaving an everlasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Born on April 11, 1990, Jessie embraced life with an open heart and boundless joy. She married the love of her life, Corren “Cory” Mugica, on July 24, 2024, and was a devoted mother to their beloved daughter, Jordyn Olivia Mugica, born March 8, 2013. Jessie found her greatest happiness in caring for her family and friends, always putting others first and nurturing those around her.
In her final act of generosity, Jessie gave the ultimate gift of life as an organ donor, saving the lives of two individuals and offering hope and healing to their families.
Jessie is survived by her loving parents, Jennifer and Trent Peacock, and Michael and Casie Wyatt; her siblings, Chance Peacock, Tori Peacock-Sanchez & her husband Jamen Sanchez, and Hayden Wyatt; her stepbrothers, Hunter and Jack Tallichet; and her step-grandmother, Susie Wyatt. Jessie’s extended family includes countless relatives and cherished friends who became family.
She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Ken Wyatt and Foney Peacock; her grandmothers, Annette Wyatt and “Nana Dot” Dorthy Dorman; and her step-grandmother, Teresa Peacock.
Jessie’s legacy of love, laughter, and care will continue to inspire those who knew her. She was a passionate advocate for causes close to her heart, including Down syndrome organizations and animal shelters, and her compassion touched lives in countless ways.
A celebration of Jessie’s extraordinary life will be held at Rock City Event Center, 5911 4th St. on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 3:00 pm in Lubbock, Texas where family and friends can gather to honor her memory and share stories of her vibrant spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jessie’s honor to organizations supporting Down syndrome awareness and animal shelters, reflecting her enduring passion for helping others.
Jessie, you loved fiercely and selflessly, and were loved beyond measure. Your light will shine in our hearts forever.
