Jimmy Carl Self

Jimmy Carl Self of Lubbock passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the age of 73.  He was born January 15, 1940 in Lynn County.  Jimmy served in the Marine Corp from 1958-1962.  He worked as a service mechanic manager and enjoyed flying model airplanes.  He married Delores Stephenson on May 31, 1963. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Delores; daughter, Karla Haddock and husband Jerry of Midland; two sisters, Genevieve Brewer of Oklahoma City, OK and Alice Hunt of Minden, NV; and four grandchildren, Evan and Brandon Self and Jason and Jarrett Haddock. 

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Kevin Self.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel.  Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
