Joann Haught

JoAnn Haught, 82, of Lubbock passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021. She was born February 24, 1939 in Maud, Texas to Lewis and Syble Ree Ouida (Burris) Penny. JoAnn married Aurbrey Haught on February 27, 1955 and was a dedicated wife for 57 years until his passing in 2012. She loved to sew and was a caregiver throughout her life. JoAnn was a happy person who always saw the bright side of things. She was a selfless woman who always put the needs of others ahead of her own and delighted in taking care of other people. JoAnn operated a daycare for many years and loved the children she cared for as if they were her own. She was a Christian woman who was a member of Idalou Church of Christ. JoAnn truly loved other people.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Penni Byrd and husband Ronnie of Lubbock and Pam Greene and husband Jeff of Deer Park; brother, Wally Penny of Ranger; sister, Kay Pearson of Arlington; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Celebration of Life services will be held for JoAnn on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 10:30am at the Idalou Church of Christ.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Meals on Wheels of Lubbock.
