Joe Cubit

Joe Lee Cubit, Jr was born on May 5, 1955 in Lockhart, TX to Joe Lee Cubit, Sr and Bernice Shannon Cubit. He attended school in Lubbock Tx but, later in life transferred to Slaton TX. He loved to play baseball will his friends and schoolmates, but he also had a musical side where he was also able to play the organ. As an adult he met and married Yolanda Evette Thomas and with that union one child was born Joe Lee Cubit, III.

Joe went to be with his savior on January 18th, 2022 and is preceded in death by his mother Bernice Shannon Cubit, Father Joe Lee Cubit Sr, Sister Geraldine Cubit and Doris Jean Cubit Lusk. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his only child, Joe Lee Cubit, III, daughter in law Ann Marie Cubit and 7 grandchildren. He also leaves 3 sisters Marie Sue Hearn of Plainview, TX and her husband James Hearn, Barbara Cubit of Lubbock, TX, Nell Cubit of Slaton, TX and one brother Jackie Lee Cubit of Lubbock, TX. He also leaves a host of other relatives and friends to cherish in his memories.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Combest Family Memorial Chapel. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Combest Family Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
