Joe "Conejo" Gutierrez

Joe “Conejo” Gutierrez of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the age of 70.  He was born January 28, 1943 in Lubbock to Pete and Nicolasa (Sotelo) Gutierrez.  Joe worked more than 20 years for Fleming Foods before retiring.  He married Lupie Salaz on February 13, 1962.  They were members of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lupie; children, Julian Melgoza, Luis Gallegos, and Norma Guitron, all of Lubbock; brother, Blaz Gutierrez of Lubbock; sister, Virginia Garcia of Ft. Worth; and six grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and three sisters.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at Our Lady of Grace.
