John Dew

John "Johnny" Dew of Artersia passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the age of 78. He was born April 27, 1943 in Artersia, New Mexico to the late James Dew and Averille Stuart.
Johnny served as a member in the National Guard and spent many years working as an electrician at the Navajo Refinery. He was a man known for his great love and compassion, having the kindest smile and warmest hugs anyone could receive. Johnny was lovingly known as the "snake man" as he had no fear when it came to hunting snakes of any kind, including rattlesnakes. When he wasn't out hunting, he would take time to relax by reading his favorite books. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

He is preceded in death by parents James and Averille Dew; brother Jimmy Dew.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters Lanetta Callaway of Artesia, New Mexico, and Brenna Dew of Artesia, New Mexico; siblings Yvonne Polk of Artesia, New Mexico, and Connie Lewis of Artesia, New Mexico; grandchildren Shayla Goss, Dayson Goss, Bailey Callaway, Emily Callaway, Ricki Dew; great grandchildren Daxxtyn Canales, Azzie Kellar; as well as many loving friends.

Celebration of life services and potluck will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 3:00pm at the Artesia Moose Lodge.
