John David Foster

John David Foster, 55, passed away January 13, 2014.  David, as he was known by his family, was born in Denison, Texas on August 26, 1958, to John L. Foster and Alice Drew Williford Foster.  The family moved to Lubbock when David was 7 years old, and he grew up here.  David attended Monterey High School, graduating in 1977.  He then attended Texas Tech for two years before joining his father and brother in the Ace Hardware business in Arlington, Texas for a number of years.  About twelve years ago, David returned to Lubbock where he continued in the hardware and building supply business for a number of years.

David was preceded in death by his father John Foster.  Survivors include his mother Drew Foster of Lubbock; his son John Roy (J.R.) Foster and wife Julie, of Dallas; his daughter Caitlan Foster of Fort Worth; his brother Kevin Foster and wife Cheryl, of Arlington; and sister Kelly Rothgeb and husband Tim of Vacaville, California; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service is planned for Friday, January 17, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, with Senior Pastor Ryon Price and Pastor Stephanie Nash officiating.
