John Roscoe Starcher, age 62, was born on December 8, 1960 in Tacoma, Washington to Melvin and Grace Starcher. He passed from this life on July 26, 2023. He is survived by his sisters: Annette Evers, Janice Brown, Cheryl Harper, and Mayre Stewart, and by his brothers: Ken Starcher, Dane Thomason, Jay Lyle Thomason, and Terry Qualls. He dearly loved his close-knit, put together family. He is preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Grace Starcher, and J.W and Dorothy Thomason.
John received his bachelor's of education from Angelo State University and his Masters from Lubbock Christian University. He was a well-respected educator, coach, and administrator all over the great state of Texas.
After retiring from the education system, John finally reached fulfillment by driving his charter bus across the United States. A dream he had since the age of 7.
John will always be remembered by his love for his family, being a loyal friend, and never meeting a stranger. He was always willing to lend whatever he had to give to anyone. He was a wonderful caregiver to his parents and his aunt Wanda.
He enjoyed all sports, talking about and watching them. From cheering on nieces and nephews at the middle school level, all the way up to the pros, he was a coach to the end. He was ready to give advice on any sport that was being played.
John was delighted to drive buses for the local schools and Kings Highway. He will be truly missed.
