Jonathan “Johnny” Evans of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born July 5, 1940, in Jennings, Louisiana to Edward and Cyrilla (Brugxe) Evans. After high school Johnny joined the United States Air Force where he served from 1958 to 1962. Johnny was a man of deep faith. He served as an elder at Parkway Drive Church of Christ for many years before joining Sunset Church of Christ where he also served as an elder. Johnny will be best remembered for faithfully praying for family and friends, welcoming everyone with open arms and having a smile that could light up a room.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Doris (Benson) Evans in 2011.
