Jose (GORDO) C. Ramirez, Jr.

Jose C. Ramirez, Jr.  (aka: Gordo) passed away Oct. 5, 2023, in Lubbock, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born June 7, 1985, to Jose C. Ramirez, Sr., and Hermelinda Yanez Ramirez, in Lubbock. Jose Jr., AKA Gordo, attended and graduated from Roosevelt High School, Lubbock.

A note from his family: Our dear son and brother, sadly passed away; he was a wonderful person, who was always there when you needed him. Gordo was loved and will be missed by all his family, friends, and those who ever had contact with him. Gordo had come to terms with life; he was so proud of his new journey, to sobriety (5-months). He had many dreams that he wished to accomplish here on earth, but our good Lord decided it was time for Gordo to come home.  

Gordo was preceded in death by his father, Jose Concepcion Ramirez, Sr. Those left to cherish his memories are his mother, Hermelinda Ramirez, his children, Heavenly Ramirez and Jaycee Ramirez, his sisters, Kimberly Ramirez, Cristina Gomez, Hermelinda Dominguez; 3 brothers-in-law, and 9 nieces and nephews.

Gordo’s family will celebrate and honor his life by having a memorial service, which will be scheduled later. Please check back for the date, time, and location.
