Joyce Evelyn Herd

Joyce Evelyn Herd of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the age of 83.  She was born January 18, 1931 in Red River County to Joe and Obera Ward.  Joyce married Ed Herd in July of 1972.  She was a member of Bacon Heights Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sue Aymond and husband Bruce of Pollock, LA; brothers, Clovis Ward of Lubbock and Russell Ward of Kentucky; sisters, Catherine Good of Paris, Texas and Connie McMurry of South Louisiana; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Ralston of Lubbock; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Donna Ralston; and son, Butch Ralston.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to noon on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Combest Family Funeral Homes.  Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Bacon Heights Baptist Church with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
