Juan Jose Rivera-Zapata

Juan Jose Rivera-Zapata of Odessa, formerly of Lorenzo passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the age of 65. He was born August 29, 1959 in Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico to the late Wenceslao and Victoria Rivera. After high school, Juan joined the job corp, later returning to Lorenzo to farm. He was a talent man well versed as a farmer, paving/excavator and running a cotton gin. Juan enjoyed hosting his family for regular BBQ events, as well as dancing and listening to music.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Crystal Rivera, Juan Rivera and wife Michelle, and Marc Rivera, all of Lubbock; siblings, Jose Rivera, Wencesalo Rivera, Jr., Francisco Rivera, Jose Luis Rivera, Miguel Angel Rivera, Artemio Rivera, Rolando Rivera, Norma Pina, and Roberto Rivera; grandchildren, Camron Chandler, Cryslynn Chandler, Caegan Chandler, Braylynn Rivera, Catalaya Mindieta, and Zaley Rivera.
