Juana Sanchez, of Lubbock, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, she was 47 years old. Juana was born in Flint, Michigan to Manuel Aguilar and Juana Arias, on January 3, 1977.
Juana was known as Janie or Nana to friends and family. Janie was strong, independent, loving and always there for everyone. She was someone who brought a ray of light and laughter into every room. Janie was all of this and more. She loved to spend time with her family, friends, but most of all her grandkids. Her favorite things to do were to go shopping and take care of all her plants. Her favorite things were Snicker bars, water with lemon and a coke with extra ice. She loved to attend church and to make sure that everyone felt special on each and every occasion.
Juana is preceded in death by her best friend, Angie Abeyta; sister, Elizabeth Sanchez; and grandparents, Luis and Manuela Aguilar, and Leonard and Isidra Marquez.
Left to cherish Juana’s memory are her children, Kathren (Ismael) Melendez, Justin Salazar, Alyssa (Noah) Salazar, April (Paul) Diaz-Rivas, and Angelica Aguilar; grandchildren, Justin Salazar, Camden and Aria Melendez, and Azalea and Julius Garcia, Zoie, Justin and Austin Rivas; parents, Manuel Aguilar and Juana Arias; and siblings, Edward (Melanie) Sanchez, Amy Durnan, Daniel (Yolanda) Aguilar, Laura (Michael) Zamora, and E.J. Aguilar.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 2:00PM. The service will take place at The Venue on Broadway, next to Combest Family Funeral Homes in Lubbock, Texas.
